Front Desk (House) - Chair: Kurt Schurer
Each week, we have two Rotarians manning this position. Their duties are to take the money from Rotarians and visitors, mark as present those CWRC members who attend, gather the names of guests and visiting Rotarians, and provide an opportunity for anyone attending the meeting to take part in the 50/50 draw.
There is also a CWRC member who is the greeter. He/she gives out name tabs, and also offers assistance, when appropriate, to visitors, guests and speakers to be teamed up with a/the relevant Rotarian.
Venue Committee - Chair: Garth Evans
Members of this committee liaise with the Holiday Inn staff on an as-needed basis. They can also act as a conduit between the club members and the HI staff so that there are no misunderstandings!
Music and Song - Chair: Don Axford
Unfortunately, we are without a keyboard, which means that the comforting and entertaining sound of a piano in the background has not been heard for some time. Also, the national anthem and our welcome song to visitors cannot always be guaranteed to be in key! The matter of the keyboard is under review, and it is hoped that, eventually, a keyboard will be obtained.
Program - Chair: Bill Tapuska
This committee has successfully arranged a top notch program of speakers, including, most recently, Ron Liepert, Ezra Levant and "Houdini"!
Christmas Party - Chair: Verneil Martin
This took place on November 13 at the Calgary Golf and Country Club. Ten exchange students were in attendance. As usual, it was a great success.
Dinner Club - Chair: Denise Penner-Collins
Not all CWRC Rotarians have taken part in this opportunity to gather together socially at members' homes. But those who have seem very satisfied with their involvement.
Christmas Brunch - Chair: Bill Tapuska
This will take place on Sunday, December 20. It is a wonderful, festive gathering of over 200 CWRC Rotarians, family and friends.
