July 15, 2011 Guest Speaker Eva Meguinis, Calgary Stampede Indian Princess.

Stan Cichon introduced our Stampede Royalty - Eva Meguinis of the Tsuu T'ina Nation.

Eva's role is to represent the Treaty Seven Nations, the Indian Village and the Calgary Stampede. As of noon, she was making her sixth appearance for the day at a scheduled event.

She told us that her family has participated in the Stampede for 27 years. She said her interests include beading and sewing, along with story telling. Her jingle dress was adorned with 230 bells which "jingle" when she participates in traditional Pow Wow dancing.

Stan announced that Eva would represent the Stampede as President Grant was "White Hatted". This ceremony includes a few "Yahoos" and a requirement of Grant to be a stampede ambassador for life.
