About the Rotary Club of Calgary West

The Rotary Club of Calgary West is a "can-do" club that has been highly integrated into our community.

Our vision is: An improved world, one project at a time.

Our mission is: To serve and to lead through local and international projects which enrich lives and brighten the future for all.

Values: We do this with truth, fairness, goodwill and friendship.

A typical Rotary meeting includes a great meal, fellowship, a short time for project reports, and an interesting presentation.

Our History: Calgary West first met in the Holiday Inn on May 26, 1967. We had 31 members and 2 visitors from our sponsoring club, Calgary Manchester (now Calgary South), who came to explain the aims and ideals of Rotary and how a club operates.

We have compiled a History from our Presidents that's available for download:

  • From 1992 onwards, a 61-page History Book (updated version uploaded July 9, 2009) PDF File 743 KB
  • From 1967 to 1992 The First 25 Years a 44-page 6.53 MB PDF file.
