Peter McCrory is the newly elected Chair of Triathlon Canada’s Board of Directors, bringing with him a passion for sport and a vision for excellence that aims to elevate Canadian triathletes to international podiums while ensuring the sport remains accessible, safe, and inclusive for all Canadians.

A dedicated leader with a deep connection to triathlon since the age of 15, McCrory has served as Chair of Triathlon Canada’s Governance Committee since 2019. He is currently the Director of the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary, where he works in close partnership with Sport Canada, Own the Podium, Canadian Sport Institutes, and more than 35 clubs across the country. His experience spans decades of executive leadership within Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic sport systems.

Prior to his role at the Olympic Oval, McCrory was responsible for managing over $4 million in annual revenue at Calgary’s Repsol Sport Centre, a key training facility for Canada’s top summer and winter athletes. His versatile leadership spans various industries, including commercial aviation, oil and gas, healthcare, and automotive, where he has led transformational projects across Europe and North America.

Originally from Ireland, McCrory holds a degree in International Business and Spanish from Liverpool John Moores University and served 17 years in the Royal Air Force as a Helicopter Weapon Systems Officer. During his military career, he also represented the Air Force in triathlon, swimming, water polo, and rowing. He later earned a Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science, laying the groundwork for a second career in sport leadership. Since emigrating to Calgary in 2011, he has combined his military discipline, business insight, and sport science expertise to foster high-performance cultures wherever he leads.

Guided by the principles of respect, teamwork, and performance excellence, McCrory is committed to unifying and advancing Triathlon Canada as a world-leading sport organization. He succeeds Les Pereira as Chair.
