Downtown Calgary

Calgary Downtown Association is one of the oldest and the largest Business Improvement Areas in Calgary, activating and advocating for an area with over 50 million square feet of office space, and over 2,500 members representing hotels, retail, restaurant, residential and entertainment spaces, as well as cultural attractions.

CDA plays a pivotal role in ensuring that downtown Calgary is a great place for Calgarians and visitors to our city to live, work, learn, shop and play.

Mark Garner joined Calgary Downtown Association in May 2022, after almost a decade of leadership at Toronto’s Yonge Street BIA. He brings to Calgary a diverse background, which includes working in banking, IT and as an entrepreneur.  Widely regarded as a community builder, Mark is passionate about the role of public art and music in creating community vitality.
