Summary

Calgary West Rotarians enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon at Wintergreen on September 9 for the Club’s annual Golf Championship. Dan successfully defended his championship with a round of 97, while Marvin took Low Net with a 73 and added a 300+ yard drive on #11. The day wrapped up with trophies, dinner and plenty of fellowship at Rockies Tavern & Grill in Bragg Creek.

The remaining golfers had a great time but, after careful consideration of the Four-Way Test, have chosen not to have their scores published. Some scorecards are best left between the golfer and the golf gods!

Calgary West Rotary Annual Golf Championship

It was a beautiful sunny Wednesday afternoon on September 9 as Calgary West Rotarians gathered at Wintergreen Golf & Country Club for the Club’s annual Golf Championship.

There was plenty of good golf, friendly competition and, as always, a healthy dose of fellowship on the course. The competition was followed by an enjoyable post-game gathering at Rockies Tavern & Grill in Bragg Creek, where golfers enjoyed good food, conversation and the presentation of this year’s trophies.

The Champions

Dan successfully defended his Club Championship, holding on to the title he won last year with a round of 97. Congratulations, Dan, on another year at the top!

Marvin captured the Low Net Championship with an impressive net score of 73. Marvin also provided one of the day’s highlights with a 300+ yard drive on #11 — proving that there was still plenty of power in the field!

The rest of the golfers also had a great time, although they have respectfully declined to give permission for their scores to be published. In keeping with Rotary’s Four-Way Test, perhaps the question “Is it beneficial to all concerned?” was carefully considered before those results were kept safely off the record!

Regardless of the numbers on the scorecard, the real winner was fellowship. It was another great opportunity for Calgary West Rotarians to get together, enjoy a beautiful afternoon, share some laughs and celebrate our Club community.

Congratulations to Dan and Marvin, and thanks to everyone who took part in making the 2026 Calgary West Rotary Golf Championship another enjoyable day on and off the course.

A big thank-you to Malcolm Harrison and Bob Pearson for making all the arrangements and keeping the day on course. Thanks to their efforts, the rest of us could concentrate on golf, fellowship and, of course, making sure our scores passed the Four-Way Test!

A special thanks to Malcolm Harrison for sharing the details that helped us capture the day.
