Dear Volunteer Supporters of Field of Crosses,

For 11 days we honoured them, but we will never forget them. Thank you for the large role you played in fulfilling our commitment to our heroes who gave up their tomorrows for our today. The Field of Crosses memorial was their homecoming, our chance to call out a simple thank you and by your actions you joined the chorus.

Celebrating and memorializing the fallen at The Field of Crosses each year may look like an easy task to those who are not intimately involved, but you know better. It takes thousands of volunteer hours to organize, and clean crosses, prepare the site, set up and take down the crosses, and thousands more volunteer hours to host the Sunrise, Sunset, Remembrance Day ceremonies – including each of the special themes and events we focused on in between.

Your volunteer participation this past year was crucial to our success and did not go unnoticed. Thank you for the huge contribution that you made. Thank you for being a team member, being enjoyable to work with, being responsible and accountable, for being a part of the Field of Crosses family.

The Field of Crosses memorial would be just an idea without you and all the volunteers who make its reality possible. We appreciate you.

Yours very truly,
Susan Schalin, President
& Gail Peake, Administrative Coordinator
